Since 2022, Data Week Leipzig has been a networking and exchange event that explores the scientific, economic, and social perspectives of data and its utilization. During Data Week Leipzig 2024, workshops, training sessions, and hackathons can be organized. The conference week will take place from April 15 to 19, 2024, at Leipzig’s New City Hall.
This year’s event, approximately 500 representatives from administration, research, and industry gathered at the New City Hall Leipzig over five days to exchange ideas about ongoing and future projects. Furthermore, Data Week Leipzig provides an excellent platform for networking, sharing experiences, and recruiting
We particularly invite event proposals that address interdisciplinary and cross-regional topics related to data, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.
Workshops can be submitted on the following topics:
Furthermore, training sessions with the following focuses can be conducted:
IT companies are invited to present their own products, datasets, or use cases.
Submissions for hackathons are also welcome. Last year, the Leipzig Open Data Hackathon was organized by the Office of Statistics and Elections of the City of Leipzig. We are open to further and different topic suggestions. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
Submission
Submissions for all Data Week Leipzig sub-events are now open and can be made until November 15, 2023, via dataweek[at]infai.org. Submissions should include a brief summary of the event (abstract with a maximum of 500 words) and a description of how a sufficient number of participants will be acquired or addressed. Please provide the name(s) and email address(es) of the contact person(s), event format, and duration (half-day, full-day) when registering. If there is an existing community or previous events, feel free to include links in the PDF document. Please send us your abstract as a PDF file and specify whether the presentation language is German or English.
We expect the organizers of sub-events to personally participate in Data Week Leipzig and register for the conference themselves.
Submissions will be processed based on the date of receipt: We aim to encourage active participation from all participating organizations to expand the overall reach of Data Week Leipzig. Therefore, decisions will be made on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The review criteria are set as follows: 1) The theme of the sub-event must align with the topics of Data Week, 2) The explanation of the sub-event’s ability to attract a sufficient number of participants must be clear and convincing.”
