Urban Data Summit: The journey from a holistic smart city strategy to a digital everyday companion for citizens The example of Troisdorf

- | Room 259 | German

Fabian Landua (DKSR) and Max Schwerhoff (City of Troisdorf)

The workshop on the digital center strategy is about the journey from a holistic smart city strategy to a Troisdorf app. The “Troisdorf way” will be outlined in a keynote speech: how was it derived from the Smart City Strategy that an app is being developed as a digital everyday companion with the help of an urban data platform as a hub for urban data (approx. 30 min.). Following this, practical use cases will be developed in a workshop with and for the participants. The aim is to experience the methodical approach in practice, as well as “thinking outside the box” when it comes to the creative process of developing city-specific functions (approx. 60 min.).

Urban Data Summit: Municipal data works: data sharing within a legally secure framework

- | Room 259 | German

Jens Klessmann (Fraunhofer FOKUS) and Magdalena Scharf (DKSR)

The exchange of sensitive, sometimes restrictive data from various areas such as transport, environmental protection and social services holds great potential for efficient digital services of general interest. At the same time, this exchange raises new requirements for a legally secure space that can strengthen cooperation between stakeholders and map diverse access rights. The “Kommunale Datenwerke” (KDW) project addresses this gap by developing a data sharing platform for the intra- and inter-municipal exchange of static and dynamic data. It demonstrates how the necessary framework for sharing data with different access rights and different types and formats can be created with the help of a user-friendly interface and the associated role and rights model. This keynote speech will provide an insight into the functions and technologies of the KDW and the status of the pilot project, which is being realized together with Mainzer Stadtwerke AG. Afterwards, there will be room for questions on the topic of (municipal) data exchange. [https://bmdv.bund.de/SharedDocs/DE/Artikel/DG/mfund-projekte/kwd.html]
