Crisis resilience workshop

- | Ratsplenarsaal | German

Chair: Kirill Bulert (Institute for Applied Informatics) and Prof. Dr. Michael Martin (University of Technology Chemnitz)

In this session, the projects from the 3rd funding call of the BMWK AI Innovation Competition will focus on the concept of crisis resilience. In addition to the various projects, the workshop will also present diverse fields of application and demonstrators. It will provide an insight into the diverse fields of work and possible applications of the dashboards and platforms being developed. The project managers will also use this session to provide an insight into work results that have already been created and to present these to the public.

  • Fatih Kilic (Institute for Applied Informatics) and Julia Lücke (Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung, DIW Berlin): Recognising the risks of supply chain dependencies in regional economic areas - dashboard for the resilience of Saxony's economy
  • Paul Geoerg (Vereinigung zur Förderung des Deutschen Brandschutzes e.V.): From global networks to local resilience: understanding supply chain complexity in emergency situations

Recent global crises have exposed the vulnerabilities of supply networks. This presentation focuses on the problem of a lack of transparency in global supply chains and the challenges for security authorities. Using examples from emergency medicine, it will explain how local inventories can be optimised and supply dependencies mapped in order to minimise supply risks. A GPT4-based solution will be presented that extracts specific information from specialised databases to increase transparency and improve security of supply. The focus is on proactive strategies to strengthen resilience in times of crisis.

  • Rolf Fricke (Condat): Project ResKriVer: Social Media Monitoring for Control Centers and Crisis Teams. In crisis situations, control centers and crisis teams often receive inadequate information about the situation in the affected area. Social media monitoring enables the discovery of relevant posts, which are then analyzed and evaluated alongside their images and comments in terms of relevance, sentiment, and credibility. This allows for the recognition of relevant issues and the initiation of appropriate measures.
